In order to advance the idea of sustainable urban development, encourage exchange and cooperation in the application of science and technology, and enhance industrial development and urban governance in the 21 member economies, INPUT2 will concentrate on three key areas: “Green Economy”, “Sustainable Transportation” and “Liveable Cities”.
Innovating for Public Urban Technology Transformation Competition, INPUT2 was approved by APEC-PPSTI and will be implemented in 2023-2024.

“Intelligent-based Multi-Level Public Transport Integration Development” is the focus of the INPUT 1. INPUT 1 solicited the participation of 21 experts from seven countries, including China, the United States, Russia, Australia, Korea, Thailand, and Malaysia. The experts’ areas of expertise included railroads, urban rail transit, and urban public transportation. A total of 64 declared entries were received from nations including China, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong, China.In a number of areas, including planning and investment management, technology innovation in construction and operation, transportation policy research, transportation modeling, new energy bus technology, rail vehicle engineering, venture capital, and technology trend analysis, the competition actively encouraged exchange between participants from various economies.
The “Innovating for Public Urban Technology Transformation Competition, INPUT 2” was launched in April 2023, and a total of 13 experts from 6 economies were invited to the Expert Panel. Among the 108 projects submitted by government departments, research institutes, industry associations, enterprises and non-profit organizations from 6 APEC economies, including China, Peru, Mexico, Malaysia, Thailand, and Hong Kong, China, the expert panel selected 40 finalists, which were awarded the “APEC PPSTI Prize for Science & Technology Innovation, APSTI”, includes Gold, Silver, Startup, Best Contribution, Best Innovation, Best Practice, Excellence and Finalist awards.
